Will the UAD-1 work for me??? G5 1.6 gHz PTLE

I'm running a G5 single 1.6 gHz with 1.25 gig of ram on PTLE 6.4 (will soon upgrade to 6.9)

My OS is 10.3.9

Will the UAD-1 work for me on this set up? Obviously I'll have to use fxpansion, but I've heard of other users not even getting it to work.

I may upgrade to the dual 2.7 gHz G5 at the end of the summer... and would then be running tiger, would this force me to forfeit my UAD-1 either for:
1) OS Tiger
or the
2) dual 2.7 g5 chipset

??? Thanks.

There's a ton of posts on the subject do a search. Short answer is yes, but just not as well or as conveniently as it works with every other audio app.

Not sure I understand your second question(s)? UA will be realeasing Tiger drivers in the next couple of weeks, hopefully, but surely by the time you get your Dual 2.7 at the end of the summer......

that was my main questions, i whether ua will release tiger drivers.

i did a search, but did not find anybody using the 1.6 gHz single processor. the search actually timed out.

i found people that said it works best with single 1.8 and dual 2.0 gHz processer due to some issue with a different chipset on the other processors. that was the reason i was asking... i'm not sure if the single 1.6 gHz processor would fall into the same category as the single 1.8 gHz as far as compatibility goes...
