Would a turntable work with my Volt 1?

Hi!

The question maybe dumb, but that is all I pretty much know about turntables haha.
Of course people tell you that you need a phono preamp, but I'm just curious, would a turntable work with my Volt? Or with any UA.

Thanks!

Why?
What does my Volt have that makes it compatible?
Thanks for your reply, I just want to make it 100% sure.
Your turntable needs an amplifier to amplify it's signal. The Volt is an amplifier that is compatible with the signal from your turntable. You can run practically any line-level (or similar) device into the Volt; microphone pre-amps, stereo components, mixers, guitar pedals, synthesizers, etc., etc.

Some turntables have a built in amp, but most are just the passive stylus cartridge going to RCA cables and a ground. If your turntable has a ground wire, it probably needs a phono preamp. The phono preamp not only amplifies the signal, but also applies RIAA deemphasis.

it may work but if it has the ground cable you will hear a hum, so just go get a cheap 2 channel mixer and plug that into the volt
