X16 ua main L-R as aux sends

I'm using the 16 analog outs to summing and would like to use the 2 monitor outputs as sends to hardware verbs.
I am bringing back the analog LR in aes via a burl ADC in an aux input in protools and another burl DAC goes back to my monitoring. So I can listen to the analog being processed in my master 2 bus plugins.
Can I split my monitoring in the aes world and use analog xlr monitors for aux sends?

I also own a twin, could that also work as 2 or more aux?

You can do this if the x16 isn't your monitor unit.

Well it is my monitor unit through aes, does that count?
Then what about the use of the twin as sends? There are 4 outputs if I'm correct, could they be sends?

Yes, that's your x16 being the mon unit.

You can use the Twin's outs as sends via the Cues.

hi, thanks for your reply. I don't have the twin right here and will get it back from my rehearsal place in a couple of days, but i would like to know how many outputs i could get away with it, as we can route i believe 2 stereo outs from it, could i expect to have 4 mono aux sends?

Twins just have the 2 extra outs. If you make it the monitor unit, Mon L/R will be in use.
