Yamaha CS-01 repair question

Hi everyone,



I just got an old Yamaha CS-01 synthesizer that after delivery turned out to have three broken sliders, nothing happens when you move them. Does anyone have any idea what might be the reason for this? And can it be cured? I´m planning to open it up and have a look, but I know practically nothing about electronics so any help would be highly appreciated...

Oh, and if anyone gets a deja vù kind of feeling it´s because I posted this over at gearslutz too.
