    They sound pretty close. I felt like the plug was a little less bright, wide, and deep, but we're talking a matter of subtlety.

    I would say that the Relab is closer to the hardware 480L than the UAD 224 is to the hardware 224. Both are close enough, IMHO.

    Well.... at all sound examples the hardware 480L sounds much better than Relab LX 480, as exactly noticed Matt Hepworth before.
    Relab is less bright, wide and deep, but generally it's a very nice sounding reverb plug-in.

    From what I see the Relab is equal to the hardwdare 480L, not just close. But which version of the 224 did UA model?
    A proven 2 UAD card system:
    Board: DFI LANParty UT Nf3 250Gb
    CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (Socket 754 @ 2.2Ghz)
    RAM: Corsair VS512MB400 (x3 = 1.5GB RAM)

    They modeled the non-XL version. The video they made for the release of the 224 plugin has a head-to-head comparison here:
