FWIW, John at RGO posted he's been told the price and implied last night online that it's about the price of Miktek CV4, which would put it in the $1,599 ballpark. So, until someone at Townsend says otherwise, that's the only figure I've seen.

That's me and I would imagine that's just a ballpark...I posted earlier in this thread that I guessed it was going to be around $1500

Time will tell but there is no PSU or fancy nos tube and we don't yet know the manufacturer of the capsule but $1500 sounds a little high to me ? At least in comparison to top drawer DIY c12 and or u47 kits ?

Conceptually, this thing is cool, looks like it may have a high degree of practicality as well. I kind of wish it was less about emulation and more about the emerging technology, which is the truly exciting part. I also agree, pricing appropriately will be important for their success. I applaud the pioneering effort in technology though, very refreshing.

Isn't it? At least it seems that way to me. The dual capsule thing is the only reason I'm really even interested in this mic. It's also why the Slate VMS never interested me.

Well, not really fair to compare it against DIY. Also, the polar pattern technology has value, some people will be buying this mic for that functionality alone.

Why would you say that ? They are emulating both the c12 and the u47. I realize the price point so far is speculative but $1500 usd isn't chump change, over 2 grand cdn landed. You can buy very good diy kits for around that. Yes you have to build them but ,,,

I respect the technology too and think this is a great new product but $1500 seems high to me.

The developers know that they have to fight the real vs emulation battle and I am sure they are prepared

I found the video impressive, especially the mike overhead, stereo guitar parts and the front rear spacing feature for electric amps very interesting.

Oh, I don't disagree with you. I was most excited about this project when I thought the mic had real VF-14's inside.

Have you checked out the Final Mix software yet? They make a U47-style mic and it'd be interesting to know if they've also tuned their mic modeling to it.
