Townsend Labs Sphere L22 Questions

I am interested in the Townsend Labs Sphere L22 and I would like to hear from those who have purchased it. How is it going for you on the UAD platform and how does it compare to the Slate VMS? I would also like to Know how it performs on a native system. Would it be better just to invest in a really expansive Mic? What are your thoughts and experiences? I also would like to know how it sounds at 44k and 48k sample rates Thanks in advance!

I don't know whether units have been shipped yet. I assume you read the big thread?

I normally work at 44.1 and definitely love the workflow.

Typically you'll probably end up monitoring with the UAD version then mixing through the native version.

The acoustic guitar in the intro of their official video I did at 44.1 through a Silver Apollo and it's stereo from a SINGLE mic!

I also did some of the vocal examples. All were keeper tracks. 44.1kHz.

I have a couple $2500 Lawsons that I've really loved (I also have most of the usual suspects) and I'm replacing several with Sphere.

Hope that helps in the meantime. BTW, I've recorded several times monitoring only the raw Sphere and was pleased with the raw sound in most instances. The raw sound hasn't been my final preference, though.
