Mixing Foo Fighters live for iHeart Radio-virtual mix buss.

Last night I mixed the Foo Fighters for a live broadcast for iHeart Radio. Will be mixing them again tonight although it's not being broadcast this time.

I was mixing on an SSL Axiom MT digital console (a VERY good sounding piece, perfectly suited for this application), but being a studio guy, and a UA user, I am used to my studio toys!! So I borrowed an Apollo 16 (since it has AES and the truck is all AES and MADI) and figured I'd use a virtual mix buss chain!! I have to say that it worked AMAZINGLY well. Typically, I would drag real analog gear for this type of thing but it's just not needed anymore. These plugs are legit. And I get the added benefit of using things like the Oxford Limiter. And of course it's all in realtime, essentially no latency which is important, especially when it needs to stay locked to pic.

Cool Drew! I've also mixed the Foo's live a couple of times and the band is very polite, accommodating, funny, and thankful. I was even given a free signed t-shirt for my son in the military who is a fan.
