Yeah, more like terrorfied, I started with Cakewalk for Dos V1.0 My first big expense was my MPU-IPC which was the 1st lesser expensive Midi interface than the MPU-401Super lame, but I think everyone was concerned once the Gibson name sat next to Cakewalk's.
Yes it does, and these bean counters are used to making Thousands of dollars on Slabs of Wood and Steel and automation. From the article: "...made this decision in order to focus on consumer audio electronics..."
Huh? It sounds like a bean-counter decision.

Yeah and shaped like Les PaulsExcept they’re likely not making all those dollars anymore, Gibson’s been apparently bleeding cash for a while now. I wonder what they mean by consumer audio electronics, Gibson branded Chinese Bluetooth headsets? Interesting...
A decade? Have you been hiding under a rock? Sonar Platinum has been great and lots of development going on. It was THE 1st 64bit Daw, had bitbridge to handle 32 bit plugins while the rest of the industry caught up. Hell, Pro Tools is still playing catch upIt's a little sad since that's what I learned how to use a DAW with back in the 90's up to about 2001. Recorded a lot of stuff with it back in the day. But honestly, there are so many DAWs that are superior now, it's not a big surprise. I was actually surprised it still existed since I hadn't heard anything about Cakewalk/Sonar in at least a decade! Lots of competition now.

Are there any pros that use it? I've never seen anyone using it. Pro Tools is behind everything IMHO, so that's not saying much, haha!A decade? Have you been hiding under a rock? Matt Hepworth our Forum creator/moderator uses it, along with many other Daws. I will admit it would be odd to schedule a recording session these days and go to the studio to find they are Only using Sonar but a lot of Artist love it. They have a very large community. Are there any pros that use it? I've never seen anyone using it. Pro Tools is behind everything IMHO, so that's not saying much, haha!
I would say I don't think I've ever seen a tutorial or demo video on anything where someone was using Sonar--like ever! The last time I even saw it in person was someone using an old 486 PC in around 2002. I guess I'm a DAW snob then!

How do you like Studio One? I'm looking hard at it. I'm just finishing up a new tune in Sonar as I write. Other than a couple of remixes for a client and unless there's buyout news soon I'm likely going to pick it up...Matt Hepworth our Forum creator/moderator uses it, along with many other Daws. I've been using Studio One these days. Just curious, which is your Daw of choice?
I love it, at first its like anything else. It takes time to get used to it. But that goes very quickly. I just took note of all the major things I need to do in any workstation. Then I set out to accomplish these tasks. It becomes a Cakewalk (Pun intended)How do you like Studio One? I'm looking hard at it. I'm just finishing up a new tune in Sonar as I write. After using Windows and Sonar, I went to Pro Tools and Mac in about 2001 after using that while at the University, then moved to Logic 5 in about 2003 because I couldn't afford to pay for the PT updates every year (didn't have the student discount anymore) and have never looked back. For what I do, it works perfectly. I still use PT from time to time when at someone else's studio helping out, but I do less of that nowadays.Matt Hepworth our Forum creator/moderator uses it, along with many other Daws.
