    Occasionally.

Would love to see everything updated, and put into a Precision Suite for one affordable price.

They indeed do need an update.....I use to have the EQ, MultiBand and Limiter on my main output bus... replaced the limiter maybe 4 years ago, replaced MB just this xmas with FF's MB....the EQ is still in use but I have only used it as a low cut filter.

Thanks so much everyone for all the input on these Precision series plugs. I read a lot of things here in the thread with which I generally concur regarding many of the Precision series plugins including the delay mod, channel strip, de-esser and enhancers. As mentioned, those I own and have limited choices from the remaining ones. Most of you indeed read that and responded accordingly.
Regardless I'm just glad to see that there are many users who continue to value these plugs and, more to the point, continue to use them regularly. I must admit, though, I still have some questions. Specifically, I wonder, Uncle E, whether you have Ozone 8 Advanced which is so good for mastering I can't not use it even if it's just for a quick minute or two before printing a sample or test track for the client. I could certainly imagine needing to conserve CPU processing power when your mix is already pushing it though. If I have that happening I'll use the Sonnox stuff on the 2 bus and generally have found it to be superior sounding to all but fully tweaked izotope mastering / master bus plugs.
For the couple of people who mentioned the multiband, I wonder if you have Softube's Drawmer 1973. It's pretty darn good if you ask me, but having said that I have not used multiband compression much yet. Maybe I just don't get it when to use it versus the choices I'm making now. Also the Waves multiband plugins are $29 if a person doesn't have a multiband compression plugin yet. I think most DAWs have something for it too though. Of course I would not be surprised if UA's version is the best around as is the case with many other plugin types IMO.
Honestly I think the most compelling case made here for me might be to get the Maximizer for its "sound" since that shape knob is a way to dial in distortion style artifacts/harmonics. I could see myself using that for synth bass or other sounds. Time to try it out! Thanks UA for the 15 day demo. In this case I certainly need it to figure out a use for one of these oldies (but apparently goodies.)

About the EQ, I believe I read that it upsamples to 192 kHz, so perhaps is indeed a good candidate for low and particularly high shelf as mentioned. I thought I had seen somewhere that several UA plugins do that also including maybe other EQs, so I wonder if someone has a case for using the Precision EQ over something like a Pultec or Dangerous.

In the similar threads section the other posts were 2 from 2009, one from 2010, 2013 and 2014, so I think this was a worthwhile post. I hope it helps other readers like it has helped me as well. Thanks again all!

I have Ozone 8 Advanced and love it. If it's the final product, I use Ozone over Precision Maximizer 100% of them time. However, I can get demo quality results faster with the Precision Maximizer and it uses no CPU.

A lot of UA EQ's upsample but I don't think that's the only thing making the Pultec MK2 sound so great. Anyway, I find the Precision EQ to not be so great and I'd much rather use the Massive Passive or IK 432.

I've been listening to the Precision Maximizer in a few places and it sounds really good. I also like it for synth and synth bass as others have stated. On the Master bus I got it to sound a lot like the Oxford Limiter v2 in the chain (which itself is excellent).

I also love the Massive Passive for EQ. In a world of limitless DSP I'd probably use it even more. Despite the DSP hog it is, I still use it a lot, even for single channels or buses. Thanks UA for the promo SHARCs...even if it's last year's quads instead of this year's octos.

Also want to thank again those who responded with specifics regarding how you use plugins. This forum is a huge resource available to UA users. Personally I have learned here and will continue to do so due to the generosity of people like you all.
Tried the technique Uncle E described with the Maximizer for making a quick master sound out of a mix and it works well! I'm definitely stealing that. Thanks Uncle E!
