Might I suggest a new forum/room for Arrow support? I suspect we are going to be inundated with questions about them and support issues for them soon ... and it's kind of made for a whole different demographic than most of the Apollo stuff given the price point. I predict a ton of questions about how to plug in microphones and the like *tongue in cheek ... sort of*

Not sure about that yet. Maybe Gannon will answer.
Hey guys,

Actually you can connect to TB 1 and 2 computers, but it's not a great solution. You'd need to use a Thunderbolt to USB-C adapter (they are bi-directional) and a powered Thunderbolt 3 dock like the StarTech, OWC or CalDigit docks. It adds significant cost and kind of gets in the way of the portability of Arrow, so an Apollo Twin is still a better option for Thunderbolt 2 computers IMO.

Plus, I should add that though we've tested it and it works, it's officially unsupported!

Cheers!

Which means this release has fixed UAD is disconnected error. I went back to the previous version and I never had that problem. I will try it out.

By the way, what makes it a better alternative to twin? Twin or Arrow?
I would think price point, and can see podcasters buying this to have an awesome UAD2 channel strip for their sound. Of course, we will get the inevitable question from them about... "I have an expensive USB microphone, for which I paid $99. How do I plug this into my new Arrow?"

I'm thinking of Gerk's comments in post #5.

14 free plugins included.
$499usd street per Sweetwater.

Single SHARC model only ?

At the other end, wonder if this leads to high end "Pro" interfaces next ?

Info updated. An Arrow can be combined with Apollos in an expanded system.

About Expanded UAD Systems

Arrow can be combined with Apollo Thunderbolt interfaces and UAD-2 DSP Accelerators to increase I/O channel counts and UAD DSP processing as your system needs grow.

Up to four Universal Audio Thunderbolt audio interfaces (i.e., one Arrow and up to three Apollo Thunderbolt interfaces) can be connected and used together as a single consolidated multi-unit I/O and DSP processing system. UAD-2 DSP Accelerators can also be added for additional UAD DSP processing within a DAW.

I'm hoping for system specs soon. There's not currently a manual available outside of the Arrow installer's help menu.

The Arrow could be great for different use cases as well, since it's bus powered you can run it anywhere without the need for AC power. That will sell a lot of units in certain markets for sure. Also If I was on tour again an Arrow would end up being in my computer bag before long I'm sure.

zvenx ah ,,guess you haven' t read the thread and didn't realize I cut and paste a bullet from the marketing info listed there and was wondering if there is another new next generation set of converters or whether this is just dated marketing language used when they first released the BF apollo ?
