New UA Spark and UADx (UAD Native) Plugins have just been officially released!

UA Spark is powered by UA Connect app and runs on Mac computers (Windows coming in a few months) and is a subscription of UA Virtual Instruments and UADx plugins at $19.99 per month.

UADx is the new UAD native plugin format!
Owners of the UAD plugins that are also available in UADx format get them free without having to have a paid subscription!

More info to follow.

This is a co-release with UAD v10's Release!

For those interested I also did a vid on some of the somewhat nitty gritty UADx aspects.

Does anyone know if this is gonna work with Softube Console1? Just did the trial and tried the API, but it seems like its loading in the DSP version of it.

I installed UA Connect. I clicked on "Redeem My Plugins" and when I try to link it to my existing iLok account, it says that I already have an iLok account associated with uaudio. Then it gave me a message saying that I have plugins associated with my account, but "there is a problem" and to contact Support. Now it has a yellow circle with 13 inside of it; I'm assuming that means I have 13 plugins that have been ported to uadx, but nothing happens when I click on it. I started Logic and it shows no change. Same thing with Wavelab. Using an M1 MacMini running Big Sur 11.6.4.

Took multiple attempts to log into Luna, even though I have the Ilok USB. And I have not tried the upgrade. SO lucky no clients aren't in to record today. I'll wait till the bugs are sorted.

Is there any reason why I would want the native plugins when I already have the DSP versions and a crap load of DSP? This is primarily for Volt users right?

For me, sometimes I like to work on my macbook outside on the patio when creating instead of sitting at my desk in the studio. This helps out a lot without having to tear down all my apollos or UAD cards. I have two x8p, x4, and 2 octo cards and have plenty of DSP and will still use the native versions when away from the studio so this is great news.

I was hoping for native plug-ins so I can use them on my laptop upstairs, without needing to have UAD equipment attached. If/when I move a track from my laptop to my 'work' computer, I will replace the natives with DSP versions as needed.

I don't think there is much value yet. There are only a limited number of plugins currently available. It appears few have been ported for the initial release of Spark.

So my experience has been:

Log into UA connect (my iLok account is already linked), I click the button to redeem my UADx plugins as I own several of the already ported plugins, I get a glimpse of the Studer A800 for a brief second before the list disappears. Now UA Connect just says: "Your licensed UAD and UADx plug-in titles appear here", with a Refresh button below it. Refreshing makes it search for plugins but changes nothing. I logged out and back in, still couldn't get the original message to appear again. I can only refresh and the list stays empty.

Please tell me this is just due to overloaded servers and will resolve itself on its own and the redeeming was not "broken" or interrupted, which will need contact with UA support in the future (no problem with them, just don't want to go into that considering the amount of requests they're going to be getting because of the update and thus the time it will take to get the issue fixed, if it's an issue and not just overloaded servers).

Do you know if you’re using the DSP version on main work computer and then as you say go to patio without all the UAD cards, will it then automatically switch to the cpu version.

You can use the UADx versions of the plugins you already own without a Spark subscription, so I'd imagine people who want to better balance native vs. DSP will find this useful. If you have loads of DSP or other native versions of the plugins, you might not be interested at this point.

I agree with your post. I have lots of DSP and there are few native plugins as of now. There wouldn't be much value to me or anyone in a comparable situation.

Agreed. I was really hoping for Hardware inserts in the next update to Luna but onward we go.

Not much value in my situation either on an older Mac...I have to use DSP. It will be nice to have the option to run a native version when I upgrade my Mac - cheaper than buying more DSP!

Interesting screen pops up when you press the Add New Product button in UA Connect. I thought it would give you a list of plugins.
