UAD software version 5.2.0 is released

Changes in this version

* New console EQ plug-ins: UAD Harrison 32C and 32C SE
* New phase utility plug-in: UAD Little Labs IBP
* (UAD-2) All UAD-1 Plug-Ins are now available for UAD-2
* (RTAS) Includes Mellowmuse ATA automatic delay compensation plug-in
* (RTAS) Full support for UAD-2
* (RTAS) New Pro Tools Configuration window for UAD-2

Important information about this release

* A new authorization file must be loaded for UAD v5.2.0. You will be prompted to automatically obtain the new authorization file by the installer. Alternately, after installing v5.2.0 and rebooting, simply click the "Authorize Plug-Ins" button in the UAD Meter & Control Panel "Plug-Ins" pane to obtain the authorization file, then double-click the downloaded file to load it. See page 28 in the v5.2.0 Manual for detailed procedures.

* UAD RTAS implementation is significantly enhanced in UAD v5.2.0. All Pro Tools users should review the updated RTAS/Pro Tools/Mellowmuse information page for complete details. Note: A new UAD RTAS ReadMe.rtf is placed into the Powered Plug-Ins Tools when the RTAS option is specified during UAD installation.

* The UAD product user manual has been significantly revised and enhanced as of v5.0.0. Please refer to the new manual for instructions on how to install and operate UAD Powered Plug-Ins v5.2.0. It is placed in the Powered Plug-Ins Tools folder during installation, or it can be downloaded here.

* (UAD-2) LiveTrack processing is not enabled properly in Nuendo/Cubase v2 and v3. After enabling and disabling LiveTrack for a UAD-2 plug-in, you must toggle the Nuendo/Cubase plug-in disable ("Power") button for processing to work again. This is not an issue in Nuendo/Cubase v4.

No, you have to buy them manually.

So they do the demo mode thing yeh?

Don't suppose they can work in mono?

yes they are available for demo and works in mono - read the 'Read Me" file that comes bundled with it.

All UAD plugins have "mono" versions available. They
do not install by default. When you start the UAD installer
there will be a prompt where you can select to have the
"mono" versions of each plugin (including demo's) additionally installed.

Just redid a clean install on my PC, dl this lastest version, and when I dragged the authorization file to the UAD meter, can't do it, it says, this UAD meter cannot accept this file. What should I do?

Mail or call the support. They are really friendly and helpful. On the other hand it´s Christmas and i don´t think they actually work, so you have to wait.

Question... Will 5.2 overwrite the plugin presets created in 5.1?

Did you download a new authorization file or used an older one? In any case, I'd say request a new one from the website.

Maybe change the file extention of the .UAD Authorization file to the older .reg file extention & run it so it writes the values to your registry just like the old way

Hello to all,

I just purchased my first UAD-2 and I'm so looking forward to start using it.

Should I first install the version (5.0) that came with the card in the installing disc or should I just install the 5.2.0 update right a way which I downloaded from the UA site?

Hello!

I have UAD-1 PCIe card installed and it was running with 5.1 software. Now I tried to install new version 5.2.0 but it always stoped in installing UA RTAS Utility. There's a window of UA RTAS Utility trying to scan but nothing's happened for a long time. Am I doing something wrong? Can someone help me out? Thank you!

Will the next version offer VST 2.4 compliance?

I just received my UAD-2 Quad - is 5.2.0 still an option or will I be "forced" to use 5.3.0 (instead of the included 5.0 rev)?

( I read in another thread that there may be problems with 5.3 - but I'm really new in town so ... )

You can run any version you want, but ideallly you want to be using the most recent version for the latest bug fixes, user enhancements and plugin releases. FWIW, I have used every UAD version since v3.0 (that is like the last 24 updates) and for me the latest v5.3 is running as well if not better than any previous version.

V5.3 has a lot a changes (new plugins, Cooper Time Cube, UAD 4 Channel Strip, UAD 4K Buss Compressor), enhancements and bug fixes. Most notably, there is a firmware update that reduces the DSP load of virtually every UAD-2 plugin(up to 50% in some cases), which in essence gives you more DSP power to use. For instance, in V5.2 (and earlier) you could only get (27) stereo Cambridge EQ's per UAD-2 DSP, with v5.3 you can now get (41) stereo instances per DSP. BIG difference!
