The macOS 11 Big Sur & Apple M1 Compatibility Info page mentions UAD, Apollo and LUNA, but doesn't explicitly mention the Ox App. Should that still work after upgrading from Catalina to Big Sur, or should I consider that an upgrade blocker?
Cool, thanks for checking! Not official but all looks/acts good here.
Thanks you for the prompt reply and info!Yes, macOS Mojave (10.14.x) and Catalina (macOS 10.15.x) are supported for the OX app: https://www.uaudio.com/ox/app/
Big Sur (macOS 11.0.x) officially isn’t supported yet, so I would hold off on that upgrade until Universal Audio declares that a supported macOS version: https://help.uaudio.com/hc/en-us/articles/360050791811-macOS-11-Big-Sur-Compatibility-Info
But as shown the OX app does already seem to work on Big Sur, although it’s not officially supported yet.
If you have any UAD software, you’ll definitely don’t want to upgrade to Big Sur yet. But upgrading to the latest version of Catalina (10.15.7 currently) is fine when it comes to Universal Audio software.
Also, I recommend backing up your system (use Time Machine and/or a disk imaging tool) before any upgrade like this, so you can always go back in case of trouble.
I thought that too, but after closer inspection I saw it was actually just a V30 (Vintage 30) cabinet that he renamed. Ox doesn’t show the version on the app window.1.3
FINALLY!!!!!!!!
Unofficially yes.So my OX is working with Big Sur?
Thanks Drew!!Unofficially yes.
We'll run internal tests and issue official qualification, but it's all good here.
