Yep. Her Mac began acting funky yesterday. She could not get into her email, and the Hosting account said there were too many redirects. Redirects? WTF? Yet I could get in to read her email account on my Mac and on a Win10 machine.
Also, Safari was giving all sorts of popups that would lockup her Mac. And Safari preferences would not let me delete cookies. Hmmm.
I had not been using anti-virus software on either of our Macs, but do use it almost religiously on all Window computers. Because of this Windows use, I have a subscription to the new Norton Security Deluxe that will let me install this anti-virus software on 5 computers.
This morning, I installed it onto my wife's Mac, ran a scan, and sure enough it found "OSX_Trojan", and removed it. NSD said the Trojan had come into the Mac through Adobe Flash Player.
I usually don't surf the net on my Mac. I use it for audio, but do watch"how-to" videos on Youtube and other sites. I have made backups of my wife's Mac files onto HDDs that may get connected to my Mac. Therefore it is probably time to install Norton Security Deluxe on my Mac. That's easy. But now...
...I wonder if Norton Security Deluxe will interfere with downloading UAD-2 updates? I guess I will find out. Any thoughts.
