Decapitator vs. Culture Vulture

Hi Jacquire,

Big fan of your work with Kings of Leon and Be Your Own Pet and many others!

I recently watched you on Pensado's Place and you said you're a big fan of the Decapitator in a mix. Now that we have a Culture Vulture plugin, I was curious what your thoughts are on it vs. Decapitator. Thanks!

I haven't really spent the time with CV to be able to answer. You have inspired me to see and in a couple weeks when I get into mixing I'll check it
out. Definitely love Decapitator and Lo-Fi … hope CV can be an equal choice

Has nobody experience with both ?
I have tried a demo of vulture culture but i dident use it on the things i should have used it on it seems
Im trying out decapitator on a paralell drumtrack right now and its awesome
I think im gonna trye the culture vulture again when im done on the same things where i use decapitator on drums and bass at least and maybe an el piano
It will not be an expert opinion on these plugins because it is limited how well you can now a plugin after 14 days
But i will at least post an opinion 😊
in my head im seeing the decapitator coming out on the top as most versitale ,and i hope im right for my moneys sake 😊 i really hope im not gonna drool after the culture for a year lol because i dont think i will see a awesome deal on this for a while
the same goes for vsm - 3 , that one im already drooling after
I think im gonna throw in the ua moog also in the equation to see what fit best for me

Fun times. Keep us posted on your results and findings. I use the Decapitator in every mix (several at times). Love it's sound and versatility (the T and P setting are modeled after the culture vulture triode and pentode settings). You can really scroll through a myriad of sonic flavors. I demoed both the UAD CV and VSM-3 and in the limited time I had, was not too impressed with the CV (I admit I needed more than the 14 day demo to try it out on everything), but the VSM-3 blew me away instantly, it's a must have for me and my workflow!

Did a little trial with CV and found it useful mostly because it has a different sonic characteristic but personally prefer Decap and if I had to choose would hands down go that way
