Hey all,
big big fan of the UAD plugs. I got the solo/laptop as a gift - one of the greatest gifts I've ever gotten
I'm working on my beloved 15" Macbook Pro 2,2 (C2D 2.16, 3GB RAM, express card slot, FW400 port, FW800 port, etc.) I use a 002 rack and Command|8, with PT LE 8.0.5 on OSX 10.6.6.
Basically, I'm wondering if anyone has tried a UAD Satellite on a similar setup, and if you've run into any issues - bandwidth limitations or otherwise. I would be running the 002 rack on the 400 port, Satellite on the 800 port, and Command|8 on the USB port - it seems all these ports would be sharing a certain bandwidth to the logic board (scary). I will then run my external audio drive on the USB port on the opposite side of the computer in hopes that it wont interfere with the bandwidth on the firewire side (futile attempt??). I guess I could also daisy chain the hard drive to the Satellite or 002R, but not sure I want to go that route.
Since I got the UAD Studer, I use it on 6 or 8 sub-groups and solo is maxed out! This leaves me unable to use the other plugs I've purchased. I NEED my 1073's, Pultec Pro's & Fatso's - you get me?
Either way, I think I'm sold on a Satellite purchase, and if it can't hang, I'll just return it. Just wanted to see if anyone could offer their experience, and persuade me one way or the other.
