Apollo twin MKii current issue

Hi,
I just purchased a Apollo twin mkii, it seems to be a really nice device but when I plug it and touch the Apollo there is a weird feeling, like vibrations (probably from current as the power supply is not grounded). I was wondering if it was normal and something which occurs with all Apollo mkii as I'm considering sending it back.
Thanks a lot

Ps : I'm French so I hope my English will be understood ;)

Hi,
...probably from current as the power supply is not grounded...
The power supply is a DC converter so there's no need for it have a third pin. It's also a switching type, which doesn't have transformers that might be transducing electrical energy into physical vibrations. And the power supply is external, so if it was vibrating you wouldn't feel it in the device itself.

When I had a twin MK 1 there was definitely no vibration.

Could it be something else on your desk or table?

I think I know exactly what you mean - didn't feel this on my Twin MKII yet but often on other devices with electroconductive housings (like my Macbook and iPad). Seems to be a common thing. I never found an explanation for it, but grounding is also my guess.

I don't think it is a real vibration. It only feels like it when I move my finger across the metal housing. The housing itself doesn't vibrate.

Thanks for the quick responses :) scratch17 thank you, your french seems to be perfect as well ;)

jnTracks, it's really instructive reading you, but I'm not sure if I explained correctly, there's no vibration, but a feeling of vibration (like if the surface was a little bit rough, it's very hard to explain) which happens only when I softly move my finger on the surface of the Apollo, and doesn't occur when it rests on the same point.

So i plugged my Apollo in my MacBook Pro (on battery), it "transferred" the effect to the MacBook Pro and then I would feel this weird sensation when touching my MacBook Pro AND the Apollo. Then I plugged my MacBook Pro which is grounded, and the weird sensation stopped on the MacBook Pro AND on the Apollo, and now even when it's not plugged the weird sensation doesn't seem to occur again. So it's good news, I don't really know what happened nor why but everything seems to work well now :)

I tested with the Twin I have here and couldn't reproduce the phenomenon you experienced. Glad you're running as normal now!
