    Playhead not moving in Reaper?

For some reason the playhead is not moving in Reaper, the audio plays fine, but no playhead movement, then suddenly it will jerk ahead randomly a few bars.

All was fine in the past, I hadn't used Reaper for a few weeks and I needed to get some audio recordings from it.
Logic and Pro Tools have no problem.

Seems very strange as my Macbook Book Air doesn't have the same problem. My main music computer was turned off for a few weeks, and I also added a UA Satellite and Apollo 8 recently, could this have anything to do with it? though I have tried the computer just using the internal audio and I still have the same problem.

    Playhead not moving in Reaper?

Try changing buffer, maybe? Is the audio device set with Apollo? If you'd launched it without Apollo on that can occur.

Cheers Matt, changed buffer, tried it with just internal audio too. no difference.
Strange, if I create a new track, then it works fine.

I use Logic for creating and am starting to learn Pro Tools for mixing, they both work fine, but I would like Reaper as a back up, but its unusable like this!

Kind of sorted it, though I don't understand, if I start a new empty project in Reaper the playhead moves but jerks along. and randomly.
But if I create one new track or more, then all is fine.

This only happens on my main computer system! so I just made a template that opens each time with one track on.

Anyone got any ideas what it could be? I reinstalled Reaper, and I tried old versions, same problem.
