Hi guys
I got a tricky question. I got a UAD2 DUO card together with a bounch of plugins. But today i got an offer that was great on 2 UAD2 DUO cards with ALL plugins.
Soooo.. im getting those and im going to sell my first UAD2 card together with the plugins i have for that one.
So. Question is. Can i just remove the UAD2 card and then insert the new ones and it will work just fine with all the new plugins.. or do i have to uninstall the old UAD Control Panel to avoid something to go wrong?

I dont want to mess upp the licenses for the old card since i got a few duplicates of plugin licens cos of the new cards.
Dunno if this makes any sense..

Oh and also.. Should i make the transfer to my account on UA or make a new account to avoid that all licenses go to all cards.. so i have to sell one card with NO plugins or all as it says on the FAQ?

Regards Bass

DO NOT install or register the new card with all the plugins until the old card has been removed from your system AND transferred to another owner with the previously owned plugins. UAD's policy on a card transfer is ALL or NONE of the plugins from your entire system go with a sold/transferred card. Once you register the new card (with all the existing plugins) on your system, the old card becomes registered for ALL plugins, too. Then ALL the plugins go or stay with a card. So, if you won't to keep the plugins with the new card, the old card will be transfered with NO plugins if they are registered in the same system.

I believe transferring a card involves some manual UAD personnel involvement, too, so the transfer won't be instantaneous. I sold a card about a year ago and it took a few days for UAD to handle the "paper work."

A fast work around may be to create a new SYSTEM in the www.uaudio.com under my.uaudio - my systems. You will have to physically remove the old card from your computer. Then, create a new system with the same computer and the new card. That could be risky. If a mistake is made, UAD will have to sort it out.

Once again, my suggestion is to keep the NEW UAD-2 in the box until you have transferfed the OLD UAD-2 to a new owner.

Hi Bass,

Are you selling the first UAD-2 Duo?

How much and where are you from?
