Console V2 was released March last year! Where the hell is it for firewire macs?

I find it unbelievable that V2 console STILL doesn't exist for Apollo firewire mac users! Why can't they take some of the DSP guys off of the latest plug in and put them on doing this? A year to wait for something announced is ridiculous. Are UA just turning into box shifters with no regard for the loyal early adopters of the apollo? I recall the same situation some years back when we had to wait 3 years for 64bit support on mac.

Keep sending me the junk coupons, I won't use them anymore - not until this is delivered. I am a 10 year veteran of UA and very heavily invested in UA (2x apollo firewire, pie quad, satellite and 10 years of plugs).

Yes, my system is still usable but for a "software company" to announce something nearly a year ago and not only not deliver but put the efforts into the twin usb instead that is only aimed at bedroom musicians that will probably only buy 1 or two plugs is very short sited. Also how many "tape emulations" do you need? Surely putting something like oxide on hold and putting the programmers on Console firewire would have been a resource better spent?

Have UA turned into the Microsoft business model? = 1 person in programming and 99 in sales and marketing?

Microsoft has over 99,000 employees (this was as of end of business year 2013).

As a point of comparison, I have attached a picture from UA's holiday card this year - keep in mind, this includes not only code & app writers but an entire arm of the company which actually assembles real-life hardware like 1176's, LA-3A's & LA-2A's, 2-610's, etc. Lets not forget CS, staff in shipping and front desk/receptionist positions.

If you have read Gannon's posts here you know that between the Twin USB and Console 2 for FW, this has been a very unsettling, unexpected challenge for UA and they have made an effort to try and get in front of their issues with sporadic informational updates here at the UAD forum. I think, from the outset they thought both of these projects would be fairly smooth sailing. Instead, both have challenged UA in ways they most certainly did not expect and they now have found themselves in a less than ideal situation.

NAMM 2016 will be taking place in three weeks, based on Gannon's stated projected goals, UA will finally be able to confidently roll with the FW for Console 2 and the Twin USB.

so....three weeks..three more weeks.

Frustrating tho it may be, personally speaking, I'd much rather wait until UA are ready to release it in full and fine working condition... If that takes another 3 months then so be it! It's hardly stopping me from working .. So please UA take your time and get it right another few weeks is much better than a release with bugs all over the place ... Just my humble opinion 😊

It was promised late 2015. Although we are 2016, they wont be far off the mark if they release it at NAMM!

Console 2.0 for FW now at NAMM? I just see three plugins released. Do I miss something?

The 3 plugs are probably a pre release as Namm officially starts today so UA should formally launch today hopefully with more news !

hope so.

And...... Nothing! NAMM was just USB twin - yes, I am convinced now that UA are now just turning into box shifters. Now if they had spent the money on developing the code rather than a glorified music shop demo for NAMM we MIGHT actually see some progress. Again, UA took years to adopt 64 bit for mac and now its going to be years before we see what we were promised a year ago. Also, while I'm on the rant, Why does it take 6-8 weeks to "process" your claim for the "buy an apollo and get a satellite free" promo? Thats 6-8 weeks PLUS shipping! Just look at how many Apollos and satellites will be on Ebay after yet another failure to deliver. Its like buying Tascam, don't expect it to work on the next OS update. Toilet, pure toilet.

FYI, the 6-8 weeks is to ensure that people don't order apollos with the intent to return them and keep the free satalite. It doesn't reflect poor customer service at all.

I would like to know if it's possible to plug a dynamic microphone into a Apollo 16 channel (it has no Unison Preamps) and use a Pre-amp Plugin to control the gain in console. Any experiences with that? Or do i need to buy a Apollo 8 or 8p with the preamps build in? Thank you.

No that would not work. Unison technology (and Unison plug-ins) only work with Apollo devices with on-board mic pres (Apollo 8, 8P & Twin).

Console 2 for Firewire... @UA... When?

They are not going to say when officially, my honest opinion only.

They already gave a date and missed it by at least 3 months.

They will probably just release it when it's done......with minimal fanfare

+1 for an ETA. With every release I expect it and with every release I get disappointed.
