I soooo wish this was true .... I bought the waves version cos I needed the plugin, shame on me, I know ..... I'd still get the UA version the day, if that day ever arrives, they released it .... At the moment tho, I'd rather have console 2 for FireWire ... Purely selfish but there you go lolAPI 2500, no?

No, it is not "a Studer with fewer options" --But is the Oxide not just a Studer A800 with fewer options emulation wise? So no new development, just different package?
...and I thought I was the only one who had worked this out.....Most of our world leaders are lizard-people!" ...
hahah...and I thought I was the only one who had worked this out.....
UA says that it's not emulating any specific machine, but they do say that it is sonically between the Studer and the Ampex -- and in my experience (I own all three plugins, plus an actual hardware Studer A80 two-track), it sounds a little closer to the Ampex in the highs and reminds me quite a bit of the Otari and the MCI machines that I learned on. Sounds on the Oxide plugin change quite a bit by moving the few controls that are available… but they all sounds really good. What analog machine is Oxide emulating?
Interesting. I still have around 40 days to pick 2 plugins so I may just wait and see what happens on 4/1...Something big is coming in April. I promised secrecy, but I know it's not going to disappoint. If the API 2500 comes with it, it'll be the best UAD release to date.
