UA Connect loads every time I launch a Logic project with a native UA plug. It's driving me batshit crazy! How do I stop it? No other plugin maker intrudes on my workflow and my CPU cycles like this — WTF?
I tried your Plugin Scanner and it did nothing at all.solution: UA Disconnect
sorry, I miss the point you are making here...I tried your Plugin Scanner and it did nothing at all.
Obviously, I am saying that I lack confidence in your apps. I will try UA Disconnect, though, but two strikes and you're out.sorry, I miss the point you are making here...
Ok, I take it back. UA Disconnect worked, my apologies. It is annoying that your utility has to exist at all, when UA could have made UA Connect so that it only ran at user-specified intervals of, say, once every two weeks. I can only imagine why they are being so intrusive and will not speculate publicly. I have the utmost respect for Universal Audio products, except when they deliberately get in the way of my work.sorry, I miss the point you are making here...
We obviously want you in UAC.Ok, I take it back. UA Disconnect worked, my apologies. Understood. But does it really have to run all the dang time? Every two weeks should be plenty, and I should have the option to stay as up-to-date and/or informed as I please, or not. I already have UAD Meter & Control Panel running all the time and Console as needed. Why not make UA Connect a checkbox feature of UAD Meter & Control Panel and make UA Connect optional? We obviously want you in UAC.
It is becoming our hub for plugins, firmware updates, videos and other content/resources moving forward. So it makes sense to build it out with this in mind.
close the window (hide not quit) and it's gone.Understood. But does it really have to run all the dang time? You mean Hide stops sucking CPU? And it auto-relaunches every time I open any Logic project with UA Native plugs, which I do a dozen times a day.close the window (hide not quit) and it's gone.
That does not happen here. I can close the UAC window (not quit) and freely go from session to session and it doesn't pop up.You mean Hide stops sucking CPU? And it auto-relaunches every time I open a new Logic project, which I do a dozen times a day.
Doesn’t answer my question, does it? It’s a startup process that requires CPU cycles and memory, and I don’t want or need it.That does not happen here. I can close the UAC window (not quit) and freely go from session to session and it doesn't pop up.
If you want to use our native plugins, you need it.Doesn’t answer my question, does it? It’s a startup process that requires CPU cycles and memory, and I don’t want or need it.
Why? Marketing? What is the technical reason? If you want to use our native plugins, you need it.
Do your “native” plugs phone home to remember how to emulate a Distressor or a Neve pre?If you want to use our native plugins, you need it.
Looping argument, man. I can check in from time to time on my schedule, not UAs. I said so in post #9.See post #8
If UA cannot show a demonstrable technical need for UA Connect to be running in order to use UA Native plugs, then only DRM and/or marketing is the reason.See post #8
